Trip Highlights

Visit the GEM (Grand Egyptian Museum): This finally open and highly anticipated jewel is now the home to some of Egypt’s most precious treasures. Ranging from golden jewelry to chariots and garments from multiple Dynasties to The solar barque of Khufu, a 44-meter-long wooden vessel that showcases the best of ancient Egyptian craftsmanship.

Venture to the Pyramids of Giza: One of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, these pyramids are over 4,000 years old. Enjoy the Great Pyramid of Khufu which is the largest and most impressive, while the Pyramid of Khafre still has some of its original limestone casing at the top.

A felucca tour on the Nile: Feluccas are traditional wooden sailboats that cruise along the Nile featuring breathtaking views of lush riverbanks, ancient temples, and distant mountains. See local life unfold on the river, from fishermen casting nets to children waving from the shore.

The Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens: Both are filled with tombs that are incredibly well-preserved. In the Valley of the Kings, you can explore the tombs of pharaohs like Tutankhamun, Ramses II, and Seti I. The murals and hieroglyphs on the walls are so vivid—they give you a glimpse into the beliefs and rituals of the ancient Egyptians.

Guided tour of Luxor and the Karnak Temples: An open-air museum, with Karnak being one of the largest religious complexes in the world. The Karnak Temple is dedicated to Amun-Ra, the king of the gods in ancient Egypt. Luxor Temple is right in the heart of the city, and it’s stunningly illuminated at night, giving it a whole different vibe. Walking between these temples, you’re essentially walking through Egypt’s past, with statues, reliefs, and inscriptions telling stories from thousands of years ago.
